Targeting Target...

A fellow writer just sent me an email stating that Target has decided to stop carrying Harlequin and Silhoutte books in their stores. I have no idea for their reasoning. I would find it hard to believe the sales are low, since the stores account for a good deal of HQ sales.

You can click here to send them an email if you would like. Maybe if enough people send emails, they will reconsider their decision.

Edited to add: I was given the news by Nina Bruhns, Intimate Moments & Nocturn author. She's a member of my local chapter and passed along the news...

That sounds crazy! I can't imagine why Target would shoot themselves in the foot that way. Hmm.

Where did your friend get their information? This just sounds crazy. I can't help thinking it's just one of those weird rumors that have no basis in fact.

You're kidding! I like to buy my HQs from Target - I even buy books I don't plan on buying just cos I'm a sucker for a good blurb...

And the Targets I frequent always run out of them rather quickly, which shows they do sell.

I hope this is a rumor. I'll be sad if they take them away...

I'm surprised to hear that, too. As far as I know, Harlequin books sell very well. Gray, thanks for the update!

That's crazy! Actually, I rarely buy my harlequin books at Target because they're usually sold out by the time I get there. So I always assumed they sold well there!
