Hold Me Back...

Ok, I'm officially loosing my mind. It's been nearly 5 months since I received notification that harlequin received my submission. And I've been very patiently waiting. I've found a ton of things to occupy myself.

But over the past few days, I'm finding my nutty tendencies are stronger than ever. My latest worry: that the email addy I sent may get erroneously input and they'll send an email to the wrong address. You see apparently my name is popular. So the yahoo address for my name was taken. So I used my middle initial. Which is L. So, my addy is Aprill... And the other night, my eyes flew open when I thought... What if they send me an email and they don't pick up on the "L".

Crazy? I told you I was loosing my mind, what did you expect. So, I'm going to sit back and do a little distracting "research" to get my mind off my worries... Here's a sample for having to read my dribble :-)

(Did I post this one before? I can't recall. But I doubt you'll have a problem seeing it a second time if I did :-))

Am I the only person loosing their mind?

I have a Hq sub over 6 months. I finall worked up the nerve to find out about my sub.

They confirmed they have it and the EA said she'll try to move it toward the top of the pile.

Now the worrying just begins again. I wish I never would have asked.

The things we torment ourselves with!?!? In other professions, this would be lunacy, when you're a writer, it's normal.

*sigh*

Honey, I waited 14 months. There were periods of time when I got itchy for a response and other times when I could put it out of my mind. I hope you get good news soon!

Waiting is the worst. How long should it take? At what time should I double check? What if they hate me for double checking? What if I check and they tell me they just read it and they love it? What if I check and they tell me they just read it and they hate it? What if I loose my mind and can't write the rest of the book?????

Oh yeah, I hate waiting. I wish you all the best and to keep your sanity.

Thanks for sharing! I hope it doesn't take 14 months. But it helps to know tht it hasn't been very "long" in comparison. Guess I'll just have to distract myself with research :-). Oh yeah, and writing...

Just keep writing. Check back with them after 6 months, and then again at 9 months...been there, done that! :)

We're here with you on the waiting... you are not alone! And don't let the worries get to you. Oftentimes, longer is better than shorter. My SIM was rejected in 5 weeks... they obviously didn't like it right off the bat.

You guys are so sweet. What would I do if I didn't have you all to rope me in? :-)

Thanks for all of the reassurances!
